Do I need an accredited qualification to work as a Makeup Artist in Australia?
No. In Australia, it’s not a legal requirement to complete an accredited or nationally recognised course to work as a professional makeup artist, whether employed or running your own business. We intentionally don’t offer government-accredited training, as those courses are often more expensive ($6,000 - $16,000) and take 6–18 months to complete. If your goal is to work as a Bridal and Special Event Makeup Artist then undergoing a nationally recongnised course is not needed.
Our program focuses on practical skills and real industry preparation, providing a Certificate of Attainment that’s fully accepted for insurance, freelance work, and employment as a professional Makeup Artist across Australia.
How long is the course and what days are offered?
Every Saturday, September 26 – November 28, 10:30am–5:00pm (10 weeks).
Who is this course suited for?
This course is perfect for beginners or intermediate artists who want to master bridal and special event makeup. Whether you’re starting a new career or building your skills, it’s designed to get you working confidently with real clients.
Do I need an advanced or second course after this?
No. We’ve packed everything into this single course to prepare you for real work and clients. You can always return for advanced sessions later, but it’s not required to start your career.
Do you offer a Hair & Makeup package?
We don’t bundle dates or pricing, as our Hair and Makeup courses run on different schedules. However, students who enrol in both courses at the same time receive a complimentary 1:1 business coaching call with Academy founder, Alondra Gatae.
What do I need to bring?
Bring your makeup brushes (yours or purchase from our professional range) and a few disposable items like cotton tips, wipes, and sponges. A complete list will be provided upon enrolment.
Do you include a pre-made kit?
No, and that’s intentional. We train you using multiple professional brands, so you can build your own kit based on your style, budget, and clients. Pre-packed kits limit your education and product knowledge.
What brands do you use in class?
We use top professional brands like CHANEL, MAC Cosmetics, Charlotte Tilbury, NYX, Tarte, Mario Badescu, YSL and more. You’ll gain hands-on experience with a variety of products so you can make informed kit choices.
Is live streaming available if I can’t attend a class?
Yes. If you’re sick or away, you can live stream your class and catch up on demonstrations remotely.
What class sizes do you run?
We keep classes small and personalised. Up to 6 students per teacher for maximum attention and support. For larger class sizes 2 qualified teachers will be available.
What’s the makeup artist course payment plan?
You can start with a $500 deposit, then choose how you’d like to pay the remaining balance.

What is The Content Photoshoot Day and how will it help me as a student?
The Content Photo shoot Day is an exclusive professional photo shoot organised for our graduating students. We provide the professional models and photographer, and handle all the planning - you simply bring your artistry. It’s your opportunity to create high-quality, professional images that elevate your portfolio and social media presence. You’ll receive beautifully retouched photos of your work, ready to post online or showcase on your website. This experience helps you stand out, attract clients, and confidently launch your career as a professional makeup artist.
Do you accept international students?
Yes, international students are welcome. There are no restrictions or additional fees.
Is there an age requirement?
All ages are welcome, though the course is best suited for students aged 14 and over.
