General Terms & Conditions
Academy of Hair & Makeup — Terms & Conditions
By enrolling in any course, workshop, or program at the Academy of Hair & Makeup, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These policies ensure clarity, fairness, and consistency for all students.
1. Enrolment & Deposit

A $500 deposit is required to secure your place in any course.

The deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable to other dates, courses, or individuals.

Your place in the course is confirmed once the deposit has been received.
2. Payment Options
A 2.2% transaction fee applies to all debit/credit card and bank transfer payments.
To avoid this fee, cash payment is recommended.
You may choose from the following payment options:
Option 1 — Pay in Full (Upfront)
Full tuition is paid before the first class. No additional fees (other than the 2.2% transaction fee, if applicable).
Option 2 — Our Payment Plan (Split Payment - No Interest)

50% of the remaining balance due on Class 1

Final 50% due halfway through the course
(Makeup Course: Class 5 / Hairstyling Course: Class 4) -
A $50 per week late fee applies if payments are overdue.
Option 3 — Weekly Instalments via Ezidebit

Remaining balance paid in weekly instalments

A $195 payment plan administration fee applies

Failed payments are subject to Ezidebit’s standard failed payment fees (charged directly by Ezidebit)
3. Late Payments & Arrears
For our Payment Plan (Option 2 - Split Payments - No Interest):

Late payments incur a $50 per week late fee.
-
If payment is more than 14 days overdue, your enrolment may be cancelled and all payments made will be forfeited, as your place cannot be resold once the course has commenced.
For Ezidebit Instalments (Option 3 - Weekly Payments via Ezidebit):
-
If a payment remains unpaid for 7 days, your class attendance will be paused until the account is up to date.

If payments remain outstanding for 21 days, enrolment will be cancelled.

The full remaining tuition balance will still be owed, and Ezidebit will continue direct debit recovery until paid in full.

The $50 late fee does not apply to Ezidebit instalments - instead it will fall under Ezidebt's late fee policy.
4. 4-Class Money-Back Guarantee (First-Time Students Only)
This applies only to the Certified Makeup Artist Course and the Certified Hairstylist Course.
To be eligible:

You must attend Classes 1, 2, 3, and 4 in full and in order.

If you wish to withdraw, you must notify us in writing before Class 5 begins.
Refund Conditions:

The $500 deposit is non-refundable.
-
Refund applies to tuition fees only.
Kits, products, tools, brushes, or accessories are non-refundable. -
A 3% merchant processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.

If on Ezidebit, your payment plan will be cancelled upon refund approval.

Missed or incomplete attendance voids eligibility unless supported by a valid medical certificate.
Once Class 5 has commenced, no refunds will be granted and full tuition is payable. Full terms and conditions for our guarentee can be found here
5. Missed Classes & Replacement Classes

Students are entitled to up to 2 replacement classes at no additional cost.

Replacement classes must be completed within 12 months of your original course start date.

Replacement classes are subject to availability and may be completed with another student group.
Additional Missed Classes:
If more than 2 classes are missed, additional replacement classes will be charged at the standard daily class rate (total course price / total number of days in the course).
Students paying through Ezidebit must be up to date on payments before booking or attending any replacement classes.
6. Content Photoshoot & Instagram Workshop
The Portfolio Photoshoot Day and Instagram Branding Workshop are included as part of your course benefits.
These inclusions hold value and are not refundable, transferable, or redeemable for cash.
If you withdraw from your course before these sessions take place, access to them is forfeited.
7. Retail Purchases, Kits & Tools

We do not offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind purchases.

Faulty items may be returned for assessment within 30 days of purchase.

Items must be unused, in original packaging, and with proof of purchase.

Assessment will be made via the manufacturer to determine whether the issue is a genuine product fault or the result of misuse, damage, or incorrect storage by the purchaser.

If the item is confirmed to be faulty, it will be replaced or repaired in accordance with manufacturer warranty guidelines.
8. Behaviour & Professional Conduct
Students are expected to behave respectfully and professionally towards teachers, classmates, models, and staff.
The Academy reserves the right to remove any student who engages in disruptive or inappropriate behaviour. In this case, no refund will be provided.
9. Photography & Media Consent
By enrolling, you consent to the Academy capturing photography or video of you and your work for educational and promotional use.
If you require privacy exemption, you must notify us in writing before your course begins.
10. Agreement
By enrolling and paying your deposit, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to all terms and conditions listed above.
