General Terms and Conditions
Academy of Hair & Makeup — Terms & Conditions
By enrolling in any course, workshop, or program at the Academy of Hair & Makeup, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms are designed to ensure clarity, fairness, and consistency for all students.
1. Enrollment & Deposit
1.1 A $500 deposit is required to secure your place in any course.
1.2 The deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable to other dates, courses, or individuals.
1.3 Your place in the course is confirmed once the deposit has been received and a confirmation email has been sent.
1.4 Apart from the 4-Class Money-Back Guarantee (see Section 5), the Academy does not provide refunds for tuition already rendered or tuition yet to be rendered for any reason.
Once enrolled, the full course fee remains payable regardless of attendance, withdrawal, or personal circumstances, as each place in the class is reserved exclusively for that student and cannot be resold once the course has begun.
2. Payment Options
2.1 A 2.2% transaction fee applies to all debit/credit card and bank transfer payments. All transaction and processing fees are non-refundable. Student's can opt to pay in cash to avoid transaction fees.
Option 1 — Pay in Full (Upfront)
2.2 Full tuition balance may be paid upon enrollment either in person during class or over the phone.
Option 2 — Split Payment Plan (No Interest)
2.3 $500 deposit.
2.4 Fifty percent of the remaining balance is due on Class 1.
2.5 The final fifty percent is due halfway through the course:
• Makeup Course — Class 5
• Hairstyling Course — Class 4
2.6 Late payments under this plan incur a $50 per week late fee.
2.7 If payment is more than 14 days overdue, your place may be forfeited and no refund will be given unless a personalised agreement has been arranged with the Academy prior.
Option 3 — Weekly Installments via Ezidebit
2.8 $500 deposit.
2.9 The remaining balance is paid in weekly installments via Ezidebit.
2.10 Students may choose the Ezidebit option either at the time of enrollment or on their first day of class.
2.11 Weekly installment amounts depend on the course and the point at which a student joins the course.
3. Ezidebit Payment Terms (Weekly Installments)
3.1 Your first Ezidebit payment will be deducted three business days before your next scheduled class after signing up.
3.2 All following weekly payments will be deducted in advance of your upcoming week of classes.
Payments are scheduled three business days before the upcoming week of classes.
Example (Regular once-per-week course):
If your class runs on Sunday, the payment will be deducted on the Wednesday before each class.
Example (Express twice-per-week course):
If your Express course runs Monday and Tuesday, your weekly payment will be deducted on the Wednesday before that week of classes, as it is calculated from the first class day that week.
3.3 Payments are deducted on the same weekday each week once your payment schedule is established.
3.4 Your weekly installment amount and number of payments depend on when you join the course. Students who join later will have fewer installments, which increases the weekly payment amount so that the course fee is completed 3 business days before the final class.
3.5 All weekly payment plans must be fully paid before the last day of class. Students cannot graduate or receive a certificate until their account is paid in full.
3.6 If a payment remains unpaid for 7 days, your attendance may be paused until your account is brought up to date.
3.7 If payments remain outstanding for 14 days, your enrollment may be cancelled and the full remaining balance will still be owed.
Ezidebit may continue to debit the outstanding balance until it is paid in full.
4. Ezidebit Fees
4.1 Academy Administration & Management Fee
A 2.2% Academy administration and management fee is added to each Ezidebit installment.
This fee covers the ongoing setup, administration, and management of the payment plan.
4.2 Ezidebit Setup Fee
Ezidebit charges a once-off setup/admin fee of $2.20, which is applied when your payment plan is first created and deducted on your first Ezidebit payment.
4.3 Ezidebit Transaction Fees
Ezidebit transaction fees apply depending on the payment method used:
• Visa or Mastercard: 1.99% per transaction
• Bank Direct Debit: $0.99 per transaction
These fees are charged by Ezidebit.
4.4 Failed Payment Fee
If a scheduled Ezidebit payment fails due to insufficient funds or bank rejection, Ezidebit will charge a $9.90 failed payment fee for each unsuccessful attempt.
4.5 Payment Retry
If a payment fails, Ezidebit will automatically attempt to retry the payment within three business days.
Students are responsible for ensuring sufficient funds are available in their account to avoid failed payment fees.
5. 4-Class Money-Back Guarantee (First-Time Students Only)
5.1 This guarantee applies only to the Certified Makeup Artist Course and the Certified Hairstylist Course.
5.2 The guarantee is designed to allow first-time students to genuinely experience the course before deciding whether it is right for them.
5.3 To be eligible, students must attend and complete Classes 1, 2, 3, and 4 in full and in order.

5.5 Refunds apply to tuition fees only. Kits, brushes, tools, accessories, and products are non-refundable.
5.6 All refunds under the 4-Class Money-Back Guarantee will have a 3% merchant processing fee deducted, regardless of payment method. This covers transaction fees charged by Shopify, Square, and Ezidebit.
5.7 If you are on an Ezidebit payment plan, your weekly instalments will be cancelled once the refund is approved.
5.8 Missed or incomplete attendance voids eligibility unless supported by a valid medical certificate.
5.9 Once Class 5 has commenced, no refunds will be granted and the full tuition amount becomes payable.
6. Missed Classes & Replacement Classes
6.1 Students are entitled to up to two replacement classes at no additional cost.
6.2 Replacement classes must be completed within 12 months of the original course start date.
6.3 Replacement classes are subject to availability and may be taken with another student group.
6.4 If more than two classes are missed, additional replacement classes will be charged at the standard daily rate, calculated as:
Course price ÷ total number of course days (+ any transaction fees).
6.5 Students paying via Ezidebit or split payments must be up to date with payments before booking or attending replacement classes.
7. Content Photoshoot & Instagram Workshop
7.1 These inclusions hold value and are not refundable, transferable, or redeemable for cash.
7.2 If a student withdraws before these sessions take place, access to them is forfeited.
7.3 Additional fees may apply if a student books into a session and does not attend, or cancels outside the permitted notice period. This applies even in cases of illness, as models and photographers must still be paid regardless of attendance. In some circumstances, a valid medical certificate may be required in order to reschedule the session.
8. Retail Purchases, Kits & Tools
8.1 No refunds or exchanges for change of mind.
8.2 Faulty items may be returned for assessment within 30 days of purchase.
8.3 Items must be in good condition, in their original packaging, and accompanied by proof of purchase.
