While education is a lifelong journey, we've packed everything you need into this single course. It's designed to get you up and running quickly, giving you the confidence to start working with clients right away. In other words, no advanced or second course is required.

We specialise in Bridal & Special Event makeup for clients of all ages and skin tones.
With a total of 10 days (65 hours of in house training)

CLASS 1:

Working as a Professional Makeup Artist + Product Knowledge

If you are learning makeup artistry to become a professional Makeup Artist, it's important to recognise that being a professional artist involves more than just applying makeup looks.

We cover the following industry relevant topics:

Client Training: Learn how to connect with your clients so they not only fall in love with your makeup skills but also with you as a professional.

Product Knowledge: Gain comprehensive knowledge of various makeup brands and tools in today’s makeup industry. This part of the course will enable you to confidently navigate any makeup store, knowing exactly what to look for.

Consultation Training: Master the art of conducting the perfect consultation to always understand your client's needs and ensure they are happy with your makeup results.
Hygiene practice, professional setup, how to book your first client, how to prepare your clients, what to bring on your job and so much more.

CLASS 2:

Skin + Flawless Base

Learn how to create a flawless and youthful base that your clients will love! No more cakey, dry foundation that comes off in just a few hours. Your clients can literally wear their makeup until the next day (though we don't recommend it, of course). We cover the following industry-relevant topics:

Skin Prep: It all starts with the skin. Learn how to educate your clients to have perfect skin for your makeup applications. We cover all skin types, concerns, contraindications, and more. You'll also delve into different skincare products and learn which are best to use as a professional artist.
Colour Correcting: Learn how to colour correct the right way (not the instagram way).

Product Training: We use MAC Cosmetics for our base training, but we understand that you may prefer other brands. We'll teach you how to select the right foundations and shades for your kit, no matter what brand you prefer. We also cover makeup brushes and how to choose the right brush for each area.

Application: Experience a new way of applying foundation! Our specialised method of applying foundation and concealer is quick and efficient, allowing anyone to create a flawless base.

CLASS 3:

Highlight & Contour:
Creams + Powders

There are major differences when choosing to highlight and contour using creams or powder products. That's why we show you both!

Product Training: Learn the differences between highlight and contour products and how to choose the right product type for the right client and desired result, using both creams and/or powders.

Levels of Highlight & Contour: Discover various methods of highlighting and contouring based on your client's skin type, desired application results, and timing. We teach you effective techniques that will suit all your different clients' needs and preferences.

Application: Take the guess work out of applying highlight and contour. We will show you our super easy technique that will chisel your clients features in no time!

CLASS 4:

Day 1 of Eyeshadow Training

Over the next 3 classes you will learn six of the most requested eye looks by clients today.

Theory: Understand different eye shapes and positions and how to adjust your eyeshadow to suit each one. We also cover colour theory to help you choose the right colors for your client.
Colour Wash: Learn to recreate a colour wash, the easiest eyeshadow style that suits everyone.
Winged Liner: Master the perfect winged liner every time using gel and liquid eyeliner.

CLASS 5:

Day 2 of Eyeshadow Training

For those clients who want something dramatic!

Glamour Eye: This on-trend look can be achieved with matte, shimmery or glittery eyeshadow, so we will teach you all 3 techniques.

Smokey Eye: We teach you the classic black smokey eye, known for being one of the most challenging to master properly. It's one of our favorites! Our method is fast and dramatic, capturing the essence of a smokey eye perfectly.

Brows: Learn x4 ways to do a clients brows using 4 different products, including the latest brow trend (laminated brows).

Day 3 of Eyeshadow Training

Advanced eyeshadow techniques made easy!

Ombre Cut Crease: Define your client's eyes with something extra glamorous. We share our secret to achieving the sharpest cut crease every time!
Halo Eye: This dramatic look is perfect for clients seeking something extra. Featuring dark shadows on the inner and outer corners and a light, shimmery colour in the center of the eyelids, we absolutely love this look!
Individual Lashes/Clusters: Learn how to apply individual lashes independently or use them to enhance your strip lashes, allowing you to create any desired shape!

CLASS 7:

Lip Application + Editorial Makeup

Learn to easily apply any lip colour, from bright red to nude. Then learn and create your first editorial look - sheer, natural, glassy makeup!

Red Lip To Nude Lip: Shaky hand? No problem! We will show you how to perfectly apply the hardest lip colour, red. Then, we'll take it a step further and demonstrate how to transform it into a nude colour using various lip products and techniques.

Editorial Makeup: During this part of the course, we will show you how to achieve an editorial "barely there" makeup look, often referred to as the 'no makeup' makeup look.

Introduction to Airbrush Makeup

The reason this course is so versatile is because we teach you all the fundamentals of makeup. Now, all you need to learn are the differences between bridal, runway, editorial, and television makeup to specialise in these specific industries. The key principles remain the same across all these fields, covering the differences in this class, as well as:

Bridal Makeup: With a special focus on bridal makeup, we dedicate a full day to learning all aspects of this important niche. You'll gain expertise in working with brides and bridesmaids, understanding what bridal trials are and how to conduct them. We even guide you on planning and preparing for your first bridal group, ensuring your booking goes smoothly.

Airbrush Makeup: We will explore what airbrush makeup actually is, why you may want to include it in your services, and which machines and products are best for you. This is an introduction to airbrush makeup, where you'll learn how to apply an airbrush base.

Continuing our specialisations we delve into the following client makeups:

Male Makeup: Learn how to apply camera-ready makeup on men, perfect for editorial, fashion, or television work.

Mature Makeup: Part of becoming a professional involves learning how to work with different skin types and preferences of each age group. Learn how to apply special event makeup for a mature skin type.

Darker Skin Makeup: Many artists find working with clients who have darker skin tones a bit intimidating, but this is our specialty! We will teach you how to choose the right colours and apply the best techniques for darker skin tones.

CLASS 10:

Assessment Day

Assessment Day allows students to experience what it's like to do makeup on their very first real group of clients!

Arranging models and treating the entire assessment like a day in the workplace helps students overcome any challenges and

fears of working with their first clients. We know making that step from the classroom to the workplace can be daunting, which is why our Assessment Day is less about "assessing" and more about providing a guided experience for our students when they are working with their first group of clients.

Our educators will observe everything, from professionalism and hygiene to consultations and applications, in order to provide students with the feedback they need for improvement and to make that transition from the classroom to real clients all the more easier.

At the end of Assessment Day, all students receive a framed copy of their certificate.

Imagine confidently walking into any makeup store and knowing exactly what to purchase for your kit, without needing assistance. That’s the type of education we offer.

Students are only required to bring their own makeup brushes (feel free to bring what you already have or purchase from our professional range), along with a few disposable items such as cotton tips, face wipes, and sponges. A complete list will be provided upon enrolment.

Career Outcomes

Upon completing this course, students obtain certification as Professional Makeup Artists and can immediately start working in their own businesses as Professional Makeup Artists specialising in Bridal and Special event makeup clients.
